Geography: Portland is a city in Victoria, Australia, and is the oldest European settlement in the state. It is also the main urban centre in the Shire of Glenelg and is located on Portland Bay.

Sir Leo Finn Bernard Cussen (29 November 1859 – 17 May 1933), Australian jurist, was a Judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

Brian James Doe (26 January 1862 – 16 April 1941) was an Australian politician.

William Dutton (31 August 1811 – 20 July 1878), known as "Captain Dutton", was a whaler and seaman remembered as a pioneer of Portland, Victoria. Posthumously he has been referred to as "William Pelham Dutton".
