A small historical reference
Geography: Yerevan - the capital of Armenia and one of the oldest cities in the world, located in the central part of the country, near the border with Turkey, on the banks of the river Hrazdan in the Ararat valley. Date of foundation and the first written mention - 782 BC. Earlier names - Erebuni Erevan (until 1936). According to the Chronicle, Urartian king Argishti I founded the city of Erebuni in the fifth year of his reign.
Lost attractions - the oldest church in Yerevan, Peter and Paul (V c.); Tapabashinskaya Mosque, Mosque Zal-Khan (Shagarskaya) Sartib mosque, mosque Haji Husein Ali Khan (Blue Mosque, 1766), the mosque Haji-Novruz Ali Bek, mosque fortress, mosque Demirbulagskaya and mosque Haji Jafar.
